November 30, 2007

There are lots of pictures of the new brake system parts. I now have a single auto-trans
style brake pedal, and I did manage to get the new 67 Mustang style dual master cylinder
piped in. It actually turned out great, and should provide some extra safety, especially
since the emergency brake cables are all missing.

I also documented all of the worst areas of rust. As I mentioned on the previous page,
this is too much for me to have fixed, unless I learn to do it myself someday...

Finally, once the brakes were bled, I did manage to move the vehicle under its own power briefly.
I only made it down a couple of doors away from house when I heard an unmistakeable
"clunk, clunk, clunk" coming from the rear.

Way back when I bought this Ranchero, they had told me that the reason it was parked was because
it probably had a bad rear end.

Closer inspection has now revealed that they were, in fact, correct!

Next big project - getting the rear end fixed!
