August 30, 2007

I have been trying to find the original throttle parts for this combination
of vehicle and engine. The engine had a cable throttle on it before, but I
decided to take that off and go back to the typical Falcon style.

I think I finally have the right stuff, but now it appears that the carburetor
is not going to work. It is still the one from the Bronco. The linkage on
the Bronco must attach higher than on a car, so the little round nub on the
throttle carb linkage is in the wrong spot.

While I think about that, I have decided to re-do all of the wiring for a
normal alternator and voltage regulator setup. The previous engine had a one
wire alternator, and the VR was missing..
