Zim's 63 Ranchero - Sitting Neglected

This is a group of photos showing the truck as it sat when I found it,
and the condition during and after the tow back to my house.

Well, I seem to have a weakness for rusty Fords with bad white paint!

My newest project is a 1963 "Falcon" Ranchero.

These photos show what it looked like when I found it, and some photos
taken during the tow, and after it was safely in my garage.

Also - there is a picture of the build sheet! Found on the inside of the
drivers door trim panel.

3H27S128714 - 1963 - Built in Lorrain, OH - Ranchero - # 28714 vehicle
built in Lorrain that model year.

Door Tag:
Body - 66B - Deluxe Ranchero
Color - D - Ming Green (Turquiose Metallic)
Trim - 56 - Black Crush Vinyl Interior
Date - 22K - October 22, 1962
DSO - 430206 - Rockford, IL - Special Order #0206
Axle - 5 - 3.50 : 1 gear ratio
Trans - 1 - 3 Speed Manual (column shift)

The engine was replaced with a 302 V8. This has apparently caused some
kind of mechanical problem which forced the previous owner to park the truck.

I was able to get a lot of extra parts with the truck - a 170 straight 6,
a 200 straight 6, a C4 automatic trans, and another 6 cylinder rear end.

Most of this was thrown on top of the snow in the bed so I could get it home.
The seats appear to be from a 1972 Maverick.

There is not a lot of really bad rust, but many of the earlier repairs
to the floors were not really done well. I might need to re-do the floors
someday to get it right.

My plans are to get a good straight six and the C4 trans into it so that
I can drive it, and then worry about fixing everyting else after that.

For now, it will have to wait until the weather is warm enough to keep
the garage door open for a while!
