Note to Teacher: MacMosaic was the program I originally used in the classroom setting. In my view it was the basic "black telephone" of the early days of the web. Version 1.0.3 was a fine vehicle for education demonstrations as it was small enough to work within the few megabytes typically available on the computers and could be easily augmented with shareware or freeware helper applications to do the graphics displays.

Now days Netscape or Internet Explorer would be the more typical choice. Still, a highly relevant point for children of Illinois was that MacMosaic was developed at the University of Illinois and that being involved in something so revolutionary might be a possibility for any of them, should they decide to go there someday.
