The World Wide Web (WWW) is an information network developed by CERN, the European Center for High Energy Physics Research. The purpose of the information network was originally to help high energy physicists do their research in a better, more collaborative fashion. However, many people have found uses for World Wide Web and Mosaic that go far beyond these original purposes.
