Gargoyles - Stone Warriors Rule Book Cover
Gargoyles - Stone Warriors Rule by Paul Mantell and Avery Hart

Gargoyles - Demona's Revenge Book Cover
Gargoyles - Demona's Revenge by Francine Hughes
It was about Gargoyles and how they are cast under this spell and how they broke it and who they should believe--humans or Gargoyles since they had been betrayed by humans.

I thought it was a good book because it flowed together. I think it could have given more details

I would recommend this book to anyone who wanted a story that moved along smoothly.

Demona wanted revenge. She wanted Gargoyles to unite with her to take over the world.

I thought this also was a good book but it had a lot of talking between one Gargoyle and another in it which I didn't like.

Hudson kept having flashbacks to a thousand or so years ago which was sort of confusing.

Danger Guys - Blast Off by Tony Abbott

It is about these two boys who are trying to stop this underground temple from exploding due to water pressure.

I thought this was a good book because of the plot. It kept you on your feet.

The plot is kind of predictable but I liked it any way. It is a great action and adventure story.

I thought this was a good book because the kids are actually trying to stop the school from being blown up. It was was pretty suspenseful--sort of. It was kind of unrealistic and this sort of interfered with the plot.

The plot is like he has to find something -- he always finds weird stuff like a fishcan, and a list. He likes pancakes and he has a dog named Sludge.

It is a good book for people who are starting to read.

See related review in Books for the Ages 6 to 8 Set.

Nate has to find the fishy prize for this animal contest. His dog gets the prize because found the prize. It also is a good book for people who are starting to read.

Genghis Khan - A Dog Star is Born by Marjorie Weinman Sharmat.
Bookcase picture in lieu of book cover

It was about Jack and Abby going to the moon to find the the fourth M.

They met up with a "moon man" guy and he helped them solve the fourth M puzzle.

Then, they broke the spell and Morgan came (she was under the spell) and then they went home.

The book was exciting and it had a good plot. It kind of stretched things out but it was still good to read.

I would recommend this book to ages 5 through 10.

This book is about a dog that looks like Genghis Khan.

They want to do a movie about him and he is to be the star of the movie. The dog gets captured.

The dog's owner has to find who captured his dog before they assign the part to a different dog.

I liked this book. It was a good book.

I didn't like the way they seemed to treat the dog as being more important than the people. I think they should be treated equally.

I recommend it to anybody that likes dogs and not cats. See related review in Books for the Ages 6 to 8 Set.

Holes Book Cover

This book is about a young girl and boy who like each other very much.

They both are going off to college soon and Helen (the girl) finds out she is pregnant!

Now she might have to break up with Chris.

What I liked about this book was how she would write the letters to Chris and he would write about what was happening.

What I didn't like about this book was at the beginning it was confusing how they would switch off talking in their own paragraphs.

I would recommend this book to somebody in the same situation as Helen or a pre-teen.

(This was given 3 out of 5 stars by the mom who also read it.)

This book is about a boy named Stanley Yelnats. He is sent to a "boot camp," where you have to dig five foot holes in the blazing hot sun in Texas for hours.

In reading it, you find out the adventure he has at Camp Green Lake.

What I liked about this book was that it was easy to follow and was very exciting and thrilling.

What I didn't like about this book was that you had to imagine what they were going to do with all the money.

I would recommend this book to a person who likes to dig holes! (This was given 5 out of 5 stars by the mom who also read it.)

by Ann M. Martin.

This book is about Samantha who helps her poor friend Nellie learn to read and write so kids at school won't make fun of her. Nellie also teachs Samantha some things too.

What I liked about this book was that it was easy to follow. What I didn't like about this book was that at the beginning there was a French word.

I would recommend this book to somebody who wants to be a teacher.

(This was given 1 out of 5 stars by the mom who also read it.)

The truth about Stacey is that she has diabetes. Only her friends in the Baby-Sitters Club know.

But her real problem is her parents. Stacey already lost one friend in New York and she is not going to let it happen again.

What I liked about this book was that Stacey was being real brave to stand up to her parents.

What I didn't like about this book was that I wished there was more at the end (a longer book).

I would recommend this book to a person who has diabetes and whose parents are acting like Stacey's.

Izzy, Willy, Nilly Book Cover

This book is about a girl who loves animals. Her father abuses her and her mother. Now can she get away with shoplifting too?

What I liked about this book was that it wasn't really funny and it wasn't really sad. It was easy to follow.

I would recommend this book to a person who is in the same situation as the girl.

(The mom did not rate this one as she did not read it.)

This book is about a girl who goes to a party with her boyfriend. Her boyfriend gets drunk.

On the drive home he crashes into a tree. Izzy (the girl) becomes crippled and has to live the rest of her life with a disability.

What I liked about this book was that it was pretty easy to follow. You get really into it as the reader.

You feel like you are Izzy.

What I didn't like about this book was that when you really get into it, you get sad when you think about being Izzy.

I would recommend this book to anyone who likes to read and get into stories.

(This was given 4 out of 5 stars by the mom who also read it.)

Kristy and her friends, Mary Anne, Claudia, and Stacey think the Baby-Sitters Club is a great idea. But nobody ever expected competition (?), crank calls, wild two-year-olds or pets!

What I liked about this book was that it was exciting and funny. What I didn't like about this book was that it was too short.

I would recommend this book to somebody who wants to start a club so that you can see the possibilities.

When five kids take a walk along Lake Levery (?), they, in a trance, step into a mysterioius rowboat that goes back in time to the time of George Washington! How will they ever return home?

What I liked about this book was that it was very exciting!

What I didn't like about this book was that once you finish the book, you want it to have a sequel.

I would recommend this book to somebody who doesn't like history class.

Libby is a really smart girl who is a very good writer. She was home schooled for a while. Then her mom sends her to a public school and they call her "McBrain" and make fun of her. She wants to drop out.

What I liked about this book was that it was exciting and you never knew what was going to happen next.

What I didn't like about this book was that it always kept you wondering at the end of each chapter.

I would recommend this book to someone in the same situation or someone who is a very good writer.

Billy and King have some bad blood between their families. They both like the same girl, Suzy Lamgen. How can they solve their problems?

What I liked about this book was that it's exciting and you never know what is going to happen next.

What I didn't like about this book was that sometimes they talk about boring things, like wht the chemistry guy looks like!

I would recommend this book to a young adult.
